Before the school started, the Eureka First Church of the Nazarene had been getting ready for something big.

In 1947 the gym was constructed. In 1976 the educational wing was added. And in 1979 the doors opened to the first class in the brand new "Eureka Nazarene School".

Later on the name was changed to "Redwood Christian School".

The church saw a need in Christ-centered and academically excellent teaching and has endeavored to meet that need for over 40 years.
